09/08/05 - Well, I know it has been a long time coming but I finally updated the site to reflect our "woodsy" Camp Tyler theme. More changes and updates are in the making.

05/11/02 - I finally got this web site back up. To make a very long story short...last fall the web hosting service I used was moved all of the webs to new servers...except mine. They said that I had the Nimda virus on my web and that I would have to rebuild it. No problem. I have backups. As I was beginning to do this, the company was sold to another and they moved everything again. I was working 100+ hours per week at my "day" job and by the time I got back to getting the site back up they had erased all that I had done saying that I was not in their administrative system. They said that I had not renewed the web domain names, etc. This was all BS and I showed them the documentation. This all took weeks. Now I'm ready to reinstall and their new servers don't work. After several months of being down, I was finally fed up with it and moved the whole "kit and kaboodle" to a new hosting service. Moving all 6 of my domain names (including jths70.org) took a month as they had an old email address in my registration, they kept sending update mail to it and it no longer existed. Anyway, about March or April of 2002 I finally got The Lion's Tale up and running on the new site. Today I got the old web site back up. I am still making some small updates but it should be as before. I will now (as time permits) change the theme and update the other pages. Sorry for the long outage. I hope this new hosting service is more reliable than the old one.

09/13/00 -  Been busy working on the CD. Only change lately is that I trimmed "The Lion's Tale" down so it would be easier to load. Haven't had time to get the new Discussion software up and running, yet.

08/06/00 - Have been busy updating the website and building the JT Directory, which is now online. Last night "The Lion's Tale" got "hosed" by the web service or something and I was unable to save the message thread. The software that runs the discussion forums was never designed to handle the volume. I am looking for some better "bulletproof" software to better manage what has turned out to be  a very important part of our web. Reunion photos got posted a couple of days ago. Over 500 will come on the CD.

07/22/00 - Updated the database with all the changes we got at the reunion as well as all that were emailed to me (Contact Forms). I updated the "missing" list but we still have 186 we have no data on. I'm working on the photos that were taken at the reunion and will post later this week. Added Steve Blow's column from the Dallas Morning News in Reunion Reactions.

07/18/00 - I added Doug Boss and Jimmy Ott as well as photos of Anthony Eurine and Bea Craft to the "Left the Pride" list. (thanks, Marsha Beall) I also changed the dedication from "reunion" to "this web site" as this place that we gather to keep in touch will be dedicated to the ones we miss.

07/17/00 - Started all the post-reunion changes. Trimmed and renamed the Discussion page to "The Lion's Tale". Added a "Reunion Reactions" page. Added a "Support of the Pride" page. Added an "Upcoming Events" page for planning the next event. Added an Announcements page.

07/08/00 - Put notice on main page explaining that I will be out of town/country until next Friday.

07/07/00 - We are now below 200 on missing classmates....and 350 in the database..!!

07/06/00 - We now have nearly 340 classmates found and in the database. Many thanks to Jim Miles who came up with several pages of names and addresses. This means we have, at least, basic information (current address and/or phone #) on them. We also are down to 200 missing.

07/05/00 - Spent 16 hours chasing down names and addresses. We now have 273 in the database and 271 missing or insufficient data. We are just now over halfway. I have been busy all day fielding email messages from classmates who have found the website. Thanks to all who are helping find the rest of the class.

07/04/00 - I don't know why I didn't add this earlier, but I added an Email Contact page where we can share our email addresses (with permission of each classmate).
We have 255 classmates in the database and are down to 289 missing.
Added classmate Ross Whitting's web site to the Links page. Added Keith Hill to the deceased list.

07/03/00 - We are now under 300 for missing and have over 250 in the database. Keep those contact forms coming in.

07/02/00 - Found more classmates, added them to the database , and removed them from them from the missing list. Updated the deceased list. We now have 233 classmates in the database and 316 missing.

07/01/00 - Found several more classmates, added them to the database, and removed them from the missing list. We are still needing info for over 300. Added a new link to www.classmates.com where many of our classmates are registered. Look if you like.

06/30/00 - Tracked down and invited 25 or our former teachers to the reunion. There were over 50 during the years of 1967-1970. Many have passed on and others were not in the Retired teacher booklets that I have. The list is in the discussion area. If any of you find any more AND their addresses, I'll send them a letter. On another note, our ad came out in the Tyler paper today and it referenced this website which has seen a sharp increase in traffic. I hope we find more classmates this way. I also added more photos of the Reunion Committee meetings at David Rozell's home.

06/29/00 - Sadly, classmate Rolan Hoskins was killed in an accident at Tyler Pipe today. I have updated the ",missing list" and "left the pride" list. We have 226 classmates "found" and 331 still missing.

06/28/00 - Trying to get the website updated as I have now stopped traveling for the time being. I first updated the missing list. We still have over 300 folks that we have insufficient data on to mail them info. Please take a minute and look at the list and let me know any info you have. Many of these folks still live in or around Tyler. Call them up and tell them about the reunion that is only a couple of weeks away. Have them (or you) fill out a contact form. We are making our last mailing this week. Time is getting short.  I updated the events page with the latest info. I have updated the "Left The Pride" page of deceased classmates. If I have left any out, please email me. If you have any photos of the ones that have no picture and you will send them to me (I will return them), I will scan them and put them beside their name.

05/06/00 - Fixed the MUSIC selection for Big Bad John. It is no longer a requirement to have Real Audio on your machine. The standard Windows Multimedia Player that automatically comes with any Win 95/98/NT should work fine. In others words, just click on the song and it should play.

05/05/00 - Updated the missing list. Since I am traveling (Montreal and UK) more than I expected, the website will probably get updated only on the weekends. Bear with me. I also removed the link to the "Lady Lions" as it is a dead link now. I also put a note on the "Music" page to say that I will fix the "Big Bad John" song in a week or two. CDNOW.com removed their samples of songs (which I was pointing to for BBJ). A fix is on the horizon. Somewhere, in my stash of old 45 records (remember them?) when I worked for KDOK/KNUE I have an original recording of the JTHS band playing BBJ. I'll try to locate it and put it up on the site.

04/29/00 - Updated the missing list and removed more names that David has in the database. I also put them under a numbered list so we could keep track of the number of missing classmates.

04/21/00 - David Rozell now has the database and we went through all the data we had on classmates. I updated the "missing" folks and took a bunch of names off the list that we had adequate data on. The rest (a ton) we either have no data on or inadequate data. Please look through this list and fill out a Contact Form for those you know the addresses, phone numbers, and/or emails on. On another note, I registered our website with several search engines so, hopefully, classmates can search for John Tyler High School and find our site. This should become active in a couple of weeks. Also added a new link about the history of the drill team which includes a little history of the JT Blue Brigade and Apache Bells. I also added 2 names of our deceased classmates to the Left the Pride page.

04/11/00 - Cleaned up some text on several pages to make it more readable..(I hope). I tried to take into account that some will have 640x480 screens and some will have 800x600, 1024x768 or better. The web pages are narrow to accommodate the 640x480 folks and the text is large for the 1024x768 folks.....also because many of us can't find our glasses. If there is any part that is really bad (font/size/color), let me know. I aims to please. Added note about adding links to any classmate's personal website.

04/08/00 - added Music page, new website name (www.jths70.org), this web page, a better link to HighSchoolAlumni.com, a "Mind-it" button so users can be notified when the site changes, more links about JT, a Trivia page (need a little help here), updated the deceased and missing page, etc.

04/07/00 - added Missing list to entice people to use Contact Form

04/06/00 - added more pics and a movie (sorry no popcorn)

04/04/00 - added deceased classmates

04/03/00 - added pictures of the committee, maps, etc.

04/02/00 - added Contact Form, discussion forum, other info.

04/01/00 - Site was born. Crude but works.
